The brief
Afresco finances and builds solar and storage for large energy users in Uganda, Kenya and beyond. Its model is clever and complicated, and the old site did not explain it.
The design moved away from stock green-energy pictures to Afresco's real installations, and split the journey for investors, partners and clients.
Built with
UI/UX lead I led the UI/UX team on a site that explains pay-as-you-go solar to investors, partners and clients.
What I did
- Moved the design away from stock green-energy imagery to Afresco's real installations.
- Designed separate journeys for investors, partners and clients.
- Designed a project story template that pairs megawatts with human impact.
- Directed the interactive map of projects across Africa.
- Reviewed the build against the designs on slow mobile networks.
The impact
- 3audience journeys: investors, partners and clients
- < 2sload time on a 4G connection
- +65%leads through the contact flow
- 10+projects on the impact map
The call I made
Real sites, real people
Stock solar imagery made Afresco look like every other energy brand. We built the design around photographs of its own installations, so the credibility comes from the work itself.
What shipped
- Separate journeys for investors, partners and clients
- Real installation photography instead of stock imagery
- An interactive map of projects across Africa
- A project story template that pairs megawatts with human impact
- A light build that loads well on slow mobile networks
