The brief
The Boat Show serves three audiences at once: visitors buying tickets, exhibitors selling space, and media covering the week.
The design had to feel like the yachts on the water, and still get each audience to the one thing they came for.
Built with
UI/UX lead I led the UI/UX team on a show site that serves visitors, exhibitors and media at once.
What I did
- Defined personas for visitors, exhibitors and media with the organisers.
- Set a marine luxury direction that still gets each audience to its goal.
- Designed the exhibitor directory and the enquiry forms.
- Designed the conference and agenda pages with speakers.
- Reviewed the mobile-first build before launch.
The impact
- 5days at Dubai Harbour
- 3audiences, each with its own route
- +30%exhibitor enquiries against the previous edition
- 70%of visits on mobile, designed for first
The call I made
Three doors on the homepage
Visitors, exhibitors and media want different things in the first five seconds. We gave each a clear door on the homepage instead of one generic call to action.
What shipped
- Personas and journeys for visitors, exhibitors and media
- A ticketing route linked to the external ticket platform
- An exhibitor directory with enquiry forms
- Conference and agenda pages with speakers
- A marine luxury look, built mobile-first
